How Can severe Cervical Herniated Discs Be Treated?

I was diagnosed with 5 bulging discs in my neck. 2 are severe (touching cord). Also, if I have a poor posture for a short period and then take a deep breath I get a few pops at bottom of neck (sounds like bubble wrap popping). I ve been going to PT for 7 months but I feel like there is something unstable in my neck such that I ll never get better. Could this be ligament damage?

Hi,

Since you are already taking physiotherapy for 7 months but not improving, you may need surgical treatment. So better to consult spine surgeon and get done clinical examination and fresh MRI of cervical spine.

This will tell you if any ligamental instability is there or not. Stabilization of spine by surgery is the only option if MRI is showing instability.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
